Why we chose LittlePod's sustainable vanilla

At our social enterprise in Transylvania, sustainability and quality are core values that guide our every decision. When it came to choosing a vanilla supplier, we knew we wanted to avoid synthetic flavors and opt for a product that aligns with our commitment to the environment. That's when we discovered LittlePod.

Discovering LittlePod

We first encountered LittlePod at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair in London. Their values of sustainability resonated with us, as we too seek to take care of the planet.

Commitment to Sustainability

Vanilla plays a crucial role in preserving tropical rainforests. These rainforests are vital for absorbing carbon dioxide, which helps mitigate the effects of climate change. LittlePod sources its vanilla from regions where it is grown in harmony with the environment, promoting biodiversity and supporting local farming communities. Research shows that areas where vanilla is planted see an increase in biodiversity.

Quality and Versatility

"This product saves so much time and makes it is so simple to use and there is no waste. The women in our facilities don’t need to spend time splitting and scraping vanilla pods. It’s a very versatile product.” said Doczi Sandor, our General Manager.

LittlePod's Impact in Indonesia

Most people associate vanilla with Madagascar, but Indonesia has a rich history of vanilla production. During a challenging period of dictatorship, Indonesian farmers were ordered to burn their root stocks. However, one farmer, Made, never abandoned his dream of resurrecting his father's vanilla farm in Bali. Using a pioneering system of polyculture, which benefits biodiversity and aids the environment, Made's collaborative orchard with LittlePod has thrived.

A Flavourful Choice for Our Products

When asked by a Hungarian Count from Transylvania if we could make a rhubarb and vanilla jam, we knew LittlePod's vanilla was the perfect choice. As our CEO remarked, "Our jam tastes like rhubarb and custard in a jar and brings back memories of my childhood."

By choosing LittlePod, we are proud to contribute to the preservation of rainforests and the improvement of livelihoods for farmers in Equatorial regions and to support a company that is making a positive impact on the world. We encourage you to learn more about LittlePod and their remarkable impact on both the environment and the vanilla industry.
